Tracy Melville

Known for loving the outdoors, Tracy had been fascinated with living things for as long as she could remember. Upon receiving her Gilman Award, she declared her intention to study abroad in Peru through Western Washington University's Global Learning Program, “Mountain Science in the Peruvian Andes,” over the summer. While abroad, Tracy had the opportunity to study the effects of climate change on alpine ecosystems and vegetation. Upon graduation, Tracy's sights were set on careers in the research sector.
