Raven Klingele

Raven spent her time at Western learning as much as she could, combining her interests in queer history, film, and drag to pursue a history degree and double minor in German and Film Studies. Her interest in the history of film and queer culture in the Weimar era in Germany led her to apply for a Fulbright there teaching English. Raven said her goal was to educate her students “about American culture and history through film.” She planned to create a short documentary in her host town, hopefully exploring how the attitude towards queerness in Germany has changed over the years. Raven performs as a drag king in addition to writing and directing short films including the short film Lesbian Vampires that was accepted to a local horror film festival in 2019.
