Nicole Crook

Even as a young girl, Nicole was fascinated by the world and felt particularly drawn to Africa. As she grew up, she was inspired to study abroad and learn new languages, and at 16 she traveled to Ghana, cementing her passion for travel. After being awarded a Gilman Scholarship, Nicole was able to study abroad for two quarters in Meknes, Morocco, studying Arabic. When asked about the experience, she said it was the best decision of her life! Upon returning to Bellingham, Nicole declared her intention to continue studying Arabic and major in International Business at Western, with the hopes of working abroad after graduation.

What are they up to now
Since graduation, Nicole was a monitoring and evaluation intern who traveled to Kenya and Uganda, where she found a love for working with and analyzing data. She now aims to become a business analyst to continue her work.
