Award/Details

2022 Fulbright, Austria

Molly graduated in 2021 with a German and linguistics double major and a minor in TESOL. She plans to teach English in Germany and expose her students to the experiences of minorities in the United States through books written by authors such as Sherman Alexie. She would also offer lessons in business English to the community and plans to volunteer in her spare time to further support the local community. Molly consistently demonstrates her dedication to supporting students who need it most, teaching from a place of compassion, encouragement, and knowing what it’s like to have to adapt to a new language and environment. Both her time in Munich from 2018-2019, and the experience of suddenly needing to change her teaching plans and adapt to online learning, as well as the changing needs of her young students due to the pandemic made her incredibly well-equipped to handle change. This will serve her well in her plans to continue teaching English abroad in other countries before coming back to the US to teach ESL or beginner’s German.
