Jennifer Mankin fulfilled her role as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in the town of Stadtroda, Germany, while also attending graduate classes to further develop her teaching and language skills at the university in nearby Jena.

What are they up to now

In 2012 she served as an instructor in Western Washington's Asia University American Program, and later completed graduate school at the University of Edinburgh with a Masters in Psychology of Language. Additionally, Jennifer has been helping scientists uncover details about the experiences of synesthetes. Synesthesia is a condition in which the senses become crossed or conjoined; for example, some people report seeing sounds or tasting colors. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Sussex, where she presented her thesis, “Psycholinguistics of Synaesthesia.” She’s been a Lecturer there in the school of Psychology since 2017, mainly focusing on research methods and cognitive psychology.
