Elise loves learning how chemistry works in the body on a molecular level, which led her to become a biochemistry major and work in Dr. Amacher's lab at Western studying how proteins use amino acids to bond to each other. Over the summer of 2023, Tahti was an Amgen scholar at UCLA studying cancer biology. After graduating from Western, Tahti intends to earn her Ph.D. in pharmacology to prepare her for a career in the pharmaceutical/biomedical research industry, contributing to life-changing drug discovery and broadening the horizons of research-based medical care.
