Award/Details

2014 Ernest F. Hollings, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Courtney, a student from the Western Honors Program, was very thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the Ernest F. Hollings NOAA Scholarship Program. She especially looked forward to sharing her talents, skills and faith with her fellow scientists during her internship. One of the things loved most about being a Western student is how much the professors care about students and invest in their success. Courtney believes that the majority of the faculty are willing to go above and beyond what is expected to make sure that students understand course material and get the most out of their education. Inspired by this, she planned on becoming a high school math and science teacher.
