Award/Details

2018 Hollings, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Bobbi always had a fondness for flipping over rocks and looking for critters - worms, lizards, snakes, crabs, and everything else! She was fascinated by their behavior and adaptations, even if they were “creepy and crawly.” Having been lucky enough to grow up in Honolulu, she spent much of her childhood in and on the ocean. As she grew up. Bobbi realized that her fondness for the ocean and marine life meshed well with her appreciation for STEM, and she was honored to be awarded with a Hollings Scholarship. She hoped her experience with NOAA would enhance her understanding of the natural world and the bizarre creatures that inhabit it. Upon graduating from Western, Bobbi planned on continuing her education through graduate school, with the hopes of one day earning a doctorate and continuing her lifelong exploration of the charismatic critters all around her.
