2009 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, India

After graduation Alice spent almost a year living in New Delhi, India, as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in India in a girls’ public school. She primarily taught 7th and 8th grade and has many fond memories of her students, coworkers, and community in Delhi. Those that stand out the most are field trips with students in the city, sharing meals and tea with her co-teachers, and celebrating holidays with her landlords.

What are they up to now

Since returning to the States, she has worked for a non-profit to help improve access to healthcare, has attended medical school at the University of Washington, and is now a resident physician in internal medicine at the University of Washington. Alice continues to be inspired by her time in India as she pursues a career in underserved healthcare. Currently she works at a hospital in Montana.
