Award/Details

2017 Gilman International Scholarship, United Kingdom

Adam's unconventional pursuit of a degree is best summed up with three words: persistence, perseverance and tenacity. Though challenged by many hardships and hurdles, Adam never lost sight of his goals and innovative ideas. He is curious and passionate about latest technology for the advancement of geoscience and archaeology. Adam's international experience and research utilized 3D modeling photogrammetry and remote sensing of archaeological sites that are at risk of coastal erosion due to sea level rise. Excavated sites include archaeology ranging from the Neolithic, Iron Age, Bronze Age and Viking Age (~4200 BC - 1100 AD). During his research in the UK, he focused on disaster risk reduction, sediment transport, and analyzing environmental impact assessment data in hopes of increasing funding from Historic Environment Scotland to mitigating further cultural heritage loss.
