CIEE The Douglass-O'Connell Global Internship (Scholarship)

Undergraduate

The Douglass-O'Connell Global Internship (actually an undergrad scholarship) allows twelve student leaders of color to participate in a four-week summer program comparing social justice leadership in America, South Africa, and Ireland. It honors Frederick Douglass' life-changing experience of visiting Ireland and learning about non-violent efforts for social change. First through third year undergraduates are eligible to apply who "have a minimum GPA of 3.0, are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident, identify as an ethnicity typically underrepresented on study abroad programs (e.g. American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander)." Applications open in December.
